HERO Returned Home for Burial

Standing in back is Sgt. Scott Rinchack, Spc. Daniels team leader from Iraq. Spc Danny Bruce Daniels II 23 was killed in combat July 20 in Iraq was buried at Pie in Mingo County. Danny was killed in Baghdad when his patrol vehicle came under attack by small arms fire and hit an improvised explosive device according to Defense Department. Danny's friends and family remembered him as a caring and a hard worker.
Gov. Bob Wise ordered all state flags at all state facilities to be flown at half-staff Thursday "July 29" in Honor and remembrance of Daniels, a Varney native who died in Combat in Baghdad, Iraq.

Daniels 23, joined the United States Army in August 2000. He was assigned to the 630th Military Police, 793rd Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, Bamberg, Germany, whose mission was combat patrols.

He was borned January 9, 1981, at Williamson a son of Danny Bruce Daniels Sr. and the late Barbara Ann Collins Daniels

In addition to his father he is survived by his wife Rilana Daniels, whom he met in Germany; his Step-mother Jenny Daniels of Varney, a brother Justin Daniels of varney; two sisters, Brittany Belcher of Varney and Melissa Stacy of Tazewell, Va.
